JENNIFER & JERRY HARDEN

Parents of Boy Scout Member

Both of Austin's parents are part of Black Swamp Council in Old Sycamore District. Jerry, Austin's father, is the Scoutmaster and Jennifer, Austin's mother, is an Active Adult Leader and Committee Member. They currently have 28 boys in their Troop. Jennifer states, "

We go on campouts once a month. Our boys do fundraisers and volunteer in numerous community service projects. Our scouts learn leadership, team building, responsibility, and other life skills that many other boys lack.

Boy Scouts take a lot of commitment but the program is so worth it."

To become an Eagle Scout, a boy scout must complete an Eagle project. This project must benefit the community and be approved by a District member before beginning.

Austin's mother and father both worked with Austin and Artist Caylah Morrow to make this project possible.
